KJV : Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

KJV : And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, [even] four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, [being] mighty men of valour.
YLT : And Abijah directeth the war with a force of mighty men of war, four hundred thousand chosen men, and Jeroboam hath set in array with him battle, with eight hundred thousand chosen men, mighty of valour.

ESV : Abijah went out to battle, having an army of valiant men of war, 400,000 chosen men. And Jeroboam drew up his line of battle against him with 800,000 chosen mighty warriors.
ERVEN : Abijah's army had 400,000 brave soldiers. Abijah led that army into battle. Jeroboam's army had 800,000 brave soldiers. Jeroboam got ready to have a war with Abijah.

BNV : অবিয ইফ্রয়িমের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে সমারযিম পাহাড়ের ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে বললেন, “যারবিযাম আর ইস্রায়েলের অন্য সবাই, তোমরা আমার কথা শোনো|
KJV : And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which [is] in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
YLT : And Abijah riseth up on the hill of Zemaraim that [is] in the hill-country of Ephraim, and saith, `Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel!

BNV : তোমরা নিশ্চয়ই জানো যে প্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর দায়ূদ ও তাঁর উত্তরপুরুষদের সঙ্গে একটি দৃঢ় চুক্তিকরেছিলেন এবং চিরদিনের জন্য তাদের ইস্রায়েলের ওপর রাজা হিসেবে কর্তৃত্ব করার অধিকার দিয়েছিলেন|
KJV : Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, [even] to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
YLT : Is it not for you to know that Jehovah, God of Israel, hath given the kingdom to David over Israel to the age, to him and to his sons -- a covenant of salt?
RV : Ought ye not to know that the LORD, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

ERVEN : You should know that the Lord, the God of Israel, gave David and his sons the right to be king over Israel forever. God gave this right to David with an agreement of salt.

BNV : কিন্তু নবাটের পুত্র যারবিযাম তাঁর প্রকৃত রাজার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করেছেন| যারবিযাম আসলে দাযূদের পুত্র শলোমনের অধীনস্থ একজন ভৃত্য ছিল|
KJV : Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
YLT : and rise up doth Jeroboam, son of Nebat, servant of Solomon son of David, and rebelleth against his lord!

BNV : তারপর স্বার্থান্বেষী অপদার্থ কিছু লোক আর যারবিযাম মিলে রহবিয়ামের বিরুদ্ধে চএান্ত করেছিলেন| যেহেতু রহবিয়ামের তখন অল্প বয়স এবং য়থেষ্ট অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল না তাই তিনি যারবিযামকে বাধা দিতে পারেননি|
KJV : And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
YLT : `And there are gathered unto him vain men, sons of worthlessness, and they strengthen themselves against Rehoboam son of Solomon, and Rehoboam was a youth, and tender of heart, and hath not strengthened himself against them.
RV : And there were gathered unto him vain men, sons of Belial, which strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender-hearted, and could not withstand them.

ESV : and certain worthless scoundrels gathered about him and defied Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and irresolute and could not withstand them.
ERVEN : Then worthless, evil men became friends with Jeroboam. Then Jeroboam and the bad men turned against Rehoboam, Solomon's son. Rehoboam was young and did not have experience. So he could not stop Jeroboam and his bad friends.

BNV : “আর এখন তোমরা সকলে মিলে ভাবছো দাযূদের সন্তানদের দ্বারা শাসিত প্রভুর রাজ্যকে যুদ্ধে হারাবে! তোমাদের সঙ্গে অনেক লোক আর দেবতা হিসেবে যারবিযামের তৈরী ঐ ‘সোনার বাছুরগুলো’ আছে|
KJV : And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye [be] a great multitude, and [there are] with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
YLT : `And now, ye are saying to strengthen yourselves before the kingdom of Jehovah in the hand of the sons of David, and ye [are] a numerous multitude, and with you calves of gold that Jeroboam hath made to you for gods.
RV : And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.
RSV : "And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David, because you are a great multitude and have with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods.

ERVEN : "Now, you people have decided to defeat the Lord's kingdom—the kingdom that is ruled by David's sons. You have so many people with you and you have the golden calves—the 'gods' that Jeroboam made for you.

BNV : তোমরা প্রভুর যাজক-লেবীয় আর হারোণের বংশধরদের তাড়িয়ে দিয়ে পৃথিবীর অন্যান্য জাতির মতো নিজেরা নিজেদের যাজক বেছে নিয়েছো| এখন যে খুশি সেই একটা ষাঁড় আর সাতটা মেষ এনে এইসব মূর্ত্তিগুলোর যাজক হয়ে বসতে পারে|
KJV : Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of [other] lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, [the same] may be a priest of [them that are] no gods.
YLT : `Have ye not cast out the priests of Jehovah, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make to you priests like the peoples of the lands? every one who hath come to fill his hand with a bullock, a son of the herd, and seven rams, even he hath been a priest to No-gods!
RV : Have ye not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the peoples of {cf15i other} lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of {cf15i them that are} no gods.
RSV : Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull or seven rams becomes a priest of what are no gods.

ESV : Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes for ordination with a young bull or seven rams becomes a priest of what are no gods.
ERVEN : You threw out the Lord's priests, the descendants of Aaron. And you threw out the Levites. Then you chose your own priests, as every other nation on earth does. And now, anyone who will bring a young bull and seven rams can become a priest to serve these 'no-gods.'

BNV : “কিন্তু আমাদের প্রভুই আমাদের ঈশ্বর| আমরা যিহূদাবাসীরা কখনও প্রভুকে অবজ্ঞা করিনি বা তাঁকে পরিত্যাগ করিনি| আমাদের এখানে কেবলমাত্র হারোণের বংশধররা লেবীয়দের প্রভুর সেবা করেন|
KJV : But as for us, the LORD [is] our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, [are] the sons of Aaron, and the Levites [wait] upon [their] business:
YLT : `As for us, Jehovah [is] our God, and we have not forsaken Him, and priests are ministering to Jehovah, sons of Aaron and the Levites, in the work,

ERVEN : "But as for us, the Lord is our God. We people of Judah have not refused to obey God. We have not left him. The priests who serve the Lord are Aaron's sons, and the Levites help the priests serve the Lord.

BNV : তাঁরাই সকাল সন্ধ্যায হোমবলি উত্সর্গ করেন, ধুপধূনো দিয়ে থাকেন এবং মন্দিরের সোনার টেবিলে তাঁরাই রুটি নিবেদন করেন আর সোনার বাতিদানগুলোর যত্ন নিয়ে থাকেন যাতে তাদের আলো কখনও নিভে না যায়| আমরা পরম শ্রদ্ধা ভরে আমাদের প্রভুর সেবা করি, কিন্তু তোমরা তাঁকেই পরিত্যাগ করেছ|
KJV : And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also [set they in order] upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
YLT : and are making perfume to Jehovah, burnt-offerings morning by morning, and evening by evening, and perfume of spices, and the arrangement of bread [is] on the pure table, and the candlestick of gold, and its lamps, to burn evening by evening, for we are keeping the charge of Jehovah our God, and ye -- ye have forsaken Him.

ERVEN : They offer burnt offerings and burn incense of spices to the Lord every morning and every evening. They put the bread in rows on the special table in the Temple. And they take care of the lamps on the golden lampstand so that it shines bright each and every evening. We very carefully serve the Lord our God, but you people have abandoned him.

BNV : প্রভু তাই আমাদের সহায়| তিনিই আমাদের প্রকৃত শাসক| তাঁর যাজকরাও আমাদের অনুগত| তাঁরা যখন কাড়া-নাকাড়া, শিঙা বাজান প্রভুর ভক্তরা তাঁর কাছে আসার জন্য ব্যাকুল হয়ে ওঠেন| শোনো ইস্রাযেলবাসীরা, তোমরা তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করো না| তোমরা কখনোই সফল হতে পারবে না|”
KJV : And, behold, God himself is with us for [our] captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
YLT : `And lo, with us -- at [our] head -- [is] God, and His priests and trumpets of shouting to shout against you; O sons of Israel, do not fight with Jehovah, God of your fathers, for ye do not prosper.`

ERVEN : God himself is with us. He is our ruler, and his priests are with us. God's priests blow his trumpets to wake you up and make you excited about coming to him. Men of Israel, don't fight against the Lord God of your ancestors, because you will not succeed!"

BNV : কিন্তু যারবিযাম অবিযর সেনাবাহিনীর পেছনে লুকিয়ে থাকার জন্য এবং তাদের পেছন থেকে আক্রমণ করবার জন্য কিছু সৈন্য পাঠিয়ে দিলেন| সুতরাং যারবিযামের মুখ্য় সৈন্যদল, অবিযর সেনাবাহিনীর মুখোমুখি হল এবং তিনি তাঁর পেছনেও অতর্কিত আক্রমণের জন্য সৈন্য মোতাযেন রাখলেন|

BNV : তখন অবিযর সেনাবাহিনী বুঝতে পারল যে সামনে পেছনে দুদিক থেকেই যারবিযামের সেনারা তাদের ঘিরে ফেলেছে আর যিহূদার লোকরা এবং প্রভুর যাজকরা সকলে মিলে শিঙা বাজাচ্ছে, প্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে সাহায্যের জন্য আর্তনাদ করছে|
KJV : And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle [was] before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

BNV : তখন অবিযর সেনারা যুদ্ধের হুংকার দিতে লাগলো এবং শেষ পর্য়ন্ত প্রভু যারবিযামের ইস্রায়েলীয় সেনাবাহিনীকেই পরাজিত করলেন|
KJV : Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

ERVEN : Then the men in Abijah's army shouted. When the men of Judah shouted, God defeated Jeroboam's army. Jeroboam's whole army from Israel was defeated by Abijah's army from Judah.
